For the past three years I've had the privilege of working with Christopher. In this time I have whitnessed how he has learned, evolved, and grown as an actor and with his understanding of himself, his person and his approach to the work.. Christopher is a wonderful young man - and there is no doubt in my mind that he will make it far in this world. I can't imagine him not doing what he was meant to do. He is increadibly diverse; we've worked both with contemporary and classical texts as well as improvisation in a team and as an individual. He has a great range and dares to go deep and fight for his character without making it over the top - and he approaches his work with a determination, understanding and passion that I find inspiring. On my improvisation-team, Christopher is a great sport and a good friend to the others and he functions whithin a group in a way which makes the others work harder to reach his standards. He is a good listener and has a very positive impact on the people around him. Christopher is a fighter - he has been to the third round at the Danish Theatre Schools this year - and when he told me that he had read about your school and when I saw his enthusiasm and how he felt it was perfect for him there was no doubt in my mind that this is the right thing for him. His mind, his vision and his ambition is greater than the milieu here and it is so right for him to move towards New York. I know he will make it, for besides his talent and his fighting spirit, he is bright and brings his heart and his mind along with him. I am a trained actor from the Danish Theatre School, and have been working professionally for the past 35 years - and I send my best wishes for Christopher and his great talent. Sincerely, ..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... As owner of Xtra Brute Productions, I would be more than happy to stand as reference to Mr. Christopher Birk. I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Mr. Birk as a hire from my company. Within the year I produced and am shopping a television pilot to major networks called Mans in Mirrors.Through the audition process, I met Christopher Birk, where he was selected from the candidates to play the part of Damien. As I am with my projects, I interviewed Chris, wanting to get to know personally the people I would be hiring so as to be in total sync with all features of my ambition. Christopher Birk was nothing but professional, showing up early and willing to remain on set in the event of a late wrap- which is predictable with anything film/TV. He came prepared, with ideas about his character and his passion-acting. Not to mention he was chosen based on superior skill and experience, which is every directors dream. Mr. Birk is ambitious, creative, and without doubt someone I would like to hire again and keep in mind with future roles to come. If there is anything else needing clarification on his character on my behalf, please feel free to e-mail me at xxxxxxxx. Thank you.
Alessandro Nicolaci ..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I am writing this letter on behalf of Christopher Birk. I have had the privilage in working with Christopher Birk on a independent film as a director and he showed nothing but professionalism. Mr. Birk was always on time and took direction very well. He gave a excellent in proformance as the lead actor, John in a film that is titled Johnʼs Last Call.Christopher Birk shows a lot of ambition and has a very promising future as an actor. To work with him has been a directors delight and I would not hesitate at the chance to cast him in my next film. Thank You ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I've had the privilege of working with Christopher Birk this past spring and summer. I had cast him as ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ I am an independent filmmaker and media artist of many narrative, experimental short films shown in worldwide film festivals. Some of my works were shown in Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival, Baltimore Womens Film Festival, Broad Humor Film Festival, New Filmmakers Fall Series NYC, The Guernsey Lily Festival, New York International Independent Film & Video Festival. Recently, I was the recipient of 2009 Broad Humor Film Festival short film award in Venice, California and 2009 KoPas Art & Culture award (in media & film art section) in Seoul, Korea. I first became acquainted with Mr. Birk in the summer of 2009 when I directed my latest short film, Papa Gorilla Banana. He was casted as the main character and I was very much impressed by his passion and devotion he brought to the set. He was always punctual to his call time and well prepared both in and out of the set. For instance, his readiness for his work such as having washed his costume for the next days shooting made him an extraordinary person among the other cast members and this made him stand out beyond his skills. Also, he was very respectful and accommodating regardless of budget and size of the production. He seemed to understand the difficult nature of independent filmmaking. With his wit and sense of humor, he made it possible to maintain a pleasant and cheerful atmosphere even at the most exhausting moments of the shooting day. He was very gentle and harmonious with his co-actors and certainly very supportive of others. Christopher is an actor with a clear vision of his career. He is focused when it comes to pursuing his dreams, and because of his great talent and his positive attitude, I have no doubt that he will make the best out of himself in his field. Therefore, he truly deserves a chance to work in the environment where he can bring his talent into action. Most sincerely, Boim Hwang ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I had the pleasure of directing Chris in a recent comedy performed on W. 21st Street in Manhattan. He was not only an excellent actor in the rehearsals and performances but a vital off-stage presence. His encouragement and small critiques helped his fellows; his general additions to the play were immeasurable. He is an actor I would love to work with again, and I hope he continues the artistic career here which has already proved so beneficial to the New York dramatic community. We are lucky to have him. Sincerely, Gabriel Oppenheim Writer/Director ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I am writing with regards to Christopher Birk. I had the great opportunity to work with Mr. Birk approximately one year ago in an off-Broadway production that I created and produced in the Crowne Theater of the Producers Club Theaters on west 44th Street in Manhattan. At that time, I found Mr. Birk to be highly professional in all aspects of his work and his approach to the process. He is a wonderfully talented young man who has an equally strong sense of the comedic as well as the dramatic. Not only did he commit to the production fully and give it his all, but he also was very supportive and proactive in terms of promotion and publicity of the production, allowing himself to be interviewed by a local cable show in New York City that was doing a video article on the show. In the future, I would not hesitate to work with Mr. Birk again and would, indeed, welcome the opportunity. Of course, I would also highly recommend him to other producers/directors for their projects. Cordially yours, Charles DeLong |
